Wire Drawing and Annealing Steel Manufacturing Process

G John Power’s focus on high quality products starts with rod feedstock obtained from approved steelmakers only after they have demonstrated their ability to meet the supply criteria laid down by British Standard 5750 Part 2 1987 and ISO 9002 1987 and the relevant production specification.

Mechanical descaling equipment provides an integral link to wire drawing and is used whenever possible in a place or traditional chemical clean in order to provide phosphate-coating lubrication for the Cold Heading and Fastener industries.

After cleaning, wire is processed through the plant in the direct drawn, annealed or inter-annealed condition to produce a range of high specification products.

Finished drawn wire is supplied in coils up to 1000 KGs maximum. Cut to length service also available.
